Sidney M. Jourard
Dr. Jourard was a leading force in Humanistic Psychology, and a pioneer in the fields of self-disclosure and body-awareness. Sidney was born in Canada and educated at the University of Toronto, where he took his M.A. degree in 1948. He continued his studies at the University of Buffalo (now State University of New York at Buffalo), and obtained his Ph.D. in clinical psychology in 1953.

Additionally, he devotes special attention to the relation of the skin and touching to mental and physical health and the discovery of the immunological functions of the skin.
Frederick Leboyer
Dr. Frederick Leboyer was the first physician to challenge society's deeply held beliefs about awareness in the newborn. His pioneering works on birthing, including “Birth Without Violence”, have forever revolutionized the course of prenatal care and the way babies are introduced to the world. He also pioneered introducing infant massage to the Western world.
Amelia D. Auckett
Amelia Auckett perceives massage as an expression of love through a special kind of caring touch. She believes that when mothers massage their babies at an early age, the massage continues the bonding process and helps establish a warm, positive parent-child relationship. Baby massage is an introduction of caring touch that can continue to any age.
